The fertile window refers to the days in your menstrual cycle when pregnancy is possible. This typically includes the 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself. Sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to 5 days, while the egg is viable for about 24 hours after ovulation.

Cycle length directly impacts when ovulation occurs. In a typical 28-day cycle, ovulation usually happens around day 14. For shorter cycles, ovulation occurs earlier, while for longer cycles, it happens later.
